Great Place to Stay

"We stayed two days here to make a two day trip to Yellowstone which is about an hour away. The cabins are behind the Holiday inn on the main drag and check in is at the gift shop. You get a real room key to get into your cabin and 10% off any gift shop purchase. The cabin was roomy and the bathroom was also roomy. The area was quiet and the beds were comfortable. This was everything we wanted. A different type of experience"

Our company has a 3 day retreat here every year. It's one of the highlights of my year! Beautiful area, quiet setting with quite a bit of wildlife. The rooms are very adequate, the food is amazing!  You will feel like you have known the staff your whole life! Such nice accommodating people! Extremely well taken care of ..... lots to do if you like the outdoors! Highly recommend!

Quaint Cabins

"Personally we loved our cabin, they were very quaint. We were on a coach tour and only stayed 1 night which was a shame as we felt this was one of the best hotels of the entire trip. Cody main street was within easy walking distance but a lot of places were still closed as it was early season. I would definitely recommend you stay longer here if you can. Pleasant staff and comfy bed. Had the best nights sleep and were made to feel welcome by the staff we came into contact with"

We stayed at The Ranch during our bus tour. The accommodations were very good. The meals and service were excellent. We got a chance to go for a short horseback ride too. Nice location with excellent scenery.

Good History Lesson

"The cabins are small but the interiors are modern and well maintained. It was interesting to learn the cabins are nearly 100 years old and the facility was built like many of the original "motor hotels" using the cabin-parking spot-cabin parking spot concept. It was a good history lesson for the grandkids to show that past generations traveled to experience new areas and not just the current bells and whistles in a motel room, They did have wifi and it worked quite well."

We arrived at The Ranch with a tour group we were able to go horseback riding before dinner. I can say without a doubt that the food on The Ranch was the best food we ate during our entire trip out west. By Far! We only stayed one night but it was great. We had breakfast before we left which again was fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful. I'm pretty sure The Ranch was voted the best stop by all of us at the end of the tour.

Very Nice, Very Clean

"It was a very nice clean room and loved the availability of all the soaps & shampoos that you need in the dispensers."

My wife and I stayed here for one night in August as part of our Western Cowboy holiday. It is in a beautiful, rural setting of Wyoming and felt like we had stepped into a John Wayne film.

The accommodation was beautiful, the food excellent and the ride was the best we have done (and we've done a lot of riding on holidays.)

Special thanks must go to Eric and Vickie: they are wonderful hosts, accommodating, friendly, incredibly helpful and humble. They made the stay a real joy and we are grateful to them for providing such a memorable part of our holiday. We shall be back!

Would Stay Here Again!

"The people are so friendly and the cabins and grounds are so clean. Would stay here again!!"

We stayed here as part of our Insights tour - what an amazing, tranquil spot in the middle of nowhere. After dinner we were treated to Smores at the campfire and entertained by a local trio of singers. Despite the cold it was fun and we had blankets to keep us warm. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We went horse riding in the morning and given that neither of us had ever ridden before we were well looked after by the very patient girls leading the horses and by the placid horses themselves

I stayed at the ranch as part of an Insight Tour group. We were only there one night, but I wish that we could have stayed for much longer. When you get to the ranch, you’re warmly greeted by the staff and the very friendly and energetic resident four German Short Hair Pointer dogs. One of the dogs Ellie had given birth to six beautiful puppies four weeks earlier, so I was in doggy, puppy and horse heaven! The staff were wonderful. Even though they must have been tired at the end of a very busy tourist season, they were warm, welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff really made you feel like part of the family. I was lucky enough to stay in the main ranch house. The room was very cosy and comfortable. The bed was one of the best I slept in during the entire 23 days of my tour. Had I known how comfortable the bed was going to be, I might have slept in like the rest of my tour did instead of getting up before dawn to go horse riding. I asked the staff when was the best time to go horse riding as it was included as part of the tour. I was told that the ranch looked best first thing in the morning. I got up early and went to the corral where I was lucky enough to ride 18yr old Rocket. I then had the very great privilege of seeing dawn breaking over the hills of Wyoming and the ranch whilst sitting in a Western saddle on top of a gentle horse ambling around a paddock, with four very energetic German Short Haired Pointer dogs racing around the paddock having the time of their lives. What a great way to start the day! That was when I fell head over heels in love with Wyoming! I was the only tour member who got up early to go riding. The others all went later in the morning. We were treated to a hearty and plentiful country breakfast. The food at the ranch was the best that I ate during the entire four and a half weeks that I was in the USA. My time at the ranch was capped off when I was allowed to cuddle one of Ellie’s beautiful puppies. Everyone on the tour said that the Ranch at Ucross was one of their favourite places that we stayed at during the entire tour. I would have loved to have spent a week at the ranch. It was so warm, welcoming and relaxing. I absolutely loved it! It was one of the highlights of my trip to the USA

Cozy Stay

"The cabin was a pleasant surprise. The room was small but we did not need any more than that. The bathroom was spotless and had a walk-in shower - much appreciated by my aching hip. The toiletries were good quality, Beekman, coming in handsome containers attached to the wall. The tv came with a channel guide: each channel was identified by their logo rather than the word, for example NBC was identified by the peacock. Very handy! Sadly, no sports channels. The price of this cozy night was also very reasonable. I highly recommend the Buffalo Village Cabins."

We stayed here for a night as part of a Insight Vacations Tour. Everything was terrific. Buffet dinner and breakfast were excellent. Loved free drink courtesy of Insight. Room was very nice. Hills were stunning behind and in front of ranch.

Horseback riding and fishing were available. So is a heated outdoor pool.

People running this place were super friendly. This is a wonderful place to stay

We stopped here as part of a Tauck Tour and felt right at home. The comfortable ranch house was inviting and the terrific lunch offered chicken and absolutely delicious brisket. Homemade cookies were delightful. Horseback riding was a treat, the wagon ride was fun with the ranch owner giving us a history of the ranch (very exciting!) And a horse whisperer demonstrated her talents. Overall a perfect afternoon.

After being blessed with a 2 day 2 night door prize, my wife and I took 2 of our grandchildren and headed to the Ranch at UCross. We really had no idea what to expect but we're absolutely blessed by the management and staff during our entire stay. We went horseback riding, hiking, fishing, swimming & paddle-boating while we were there. Our room was just perfect for us and the food was served buffet style and was delicious. If you went away hungry it was your own fault. They had a couple of tour buses that came in while we were there and we were invited to join them in campfire singing one night and s'mores at the campfire the next night. I would highly recommend the Ranch at UCross to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a very beautiful and scenic area!
