Riverton Museum

This local history museum that tells the story of the 20th-century homesteaders who brought Riverton to life in 1906 and helped it grow to its present status as the largest commercial center in west-central Wyoming. The museum displays artifacts that illustrate life at a time when the Old West was fading, but when many still believed that the pioneer spirit could lead to a bright future. The museum is housed in one of Riverton's earliest brick buildings; the home of the Riverton Methodist Church from 1916 to 1960.

No admission fee is charged but donations are welcome. The museum is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, throughout the year. It is closed for major holidays. An extensive research library provides access to published and primary source material about local and Wyoming history. Call 307-856-2665 for information. The museum is located at 7th East and Park Avenue, one block west of the Pizza Hut restaurant on Highway 26 (N. Federal Boulevard).
